Overview
Stammer Time joined the league in 2011 and instantly made an impact. After drafting Ryan Strome in the 2011 Entry Draft, General Manager Bradley Matsuba made a deal that sent Strome to Optimus-Reim to acquire Colorado Avalanche rookie Gabriel Landeskog. The trade appeared questionable at first, but later showed that GM Matsuba was interested in near-future success, as opposed to developing through youth. A large bullet was dodged that same year when the heart of Matsuba was ready to sell the foundations of Stammer Time in order to acquire superstar Alexander Ovechkin from Mr. Mo-memtum. Names heading the other way included Steven Stamkos and Corey Perry; the decision by Matsuba to back out of the original offer likely saved his career.
2011 – 2012 Season
The first season for Stammer Time was the year of expansion in 2011-12 that saw the HBL expand from four teams to six. Along with Stammer Time, Girouxsome Twosome (known at that time as Dunder Myfuglien) also joined the league. ST bumbled along the season, impressing few but at the same time, letting no one down; however, this first year also brought about the first playoff appearance. Here, Stammer Time lost to Dunder Myfuglien – the eventual 2011-12 Hoover Bowl Champion – in the semi-finals. It was a big year of learning for General Manager Matsuba and all of Stammer Time. The 2011-12 season acted as a stepping stone to future success.
2012 – 2013 Season

In the off season, Matsuba made several large moves to aquire the likes of forward Zach Parise, defenseman Kris Letang and goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, filling all positions and categories he deemed weak from the previous year. As it turned out, the right moves were made. Along with fortunate drafting and hot streaks from all the right guys at all the right times, the 2012-13 saw Stammer Time lift the Hoover Bowl for the first time in franchise history – only one year removed from their first season in the league. Keys to the Championship lie in the strong season of Chris Kunitz (7th round), along with the dominant year of the Chicago Blackhawks and their tandem crease kings: Corey Crawford and Ray Emery – both of which went undrafted and were signed by Matsuba off free agency. It was these moves that helped Stammer Time solidify goaltending stats week in and week out.
2013 Entry Draft
On June 9, 2013, the HBL held the 3rd annual Entry Draft. Here, Matsuba selected Curits Lazar (12th), Kerby Rychel (18th), Justin Bailey (21st), Zachary Fucale (23rd) and Tristan Jarry (30th) – this meant Matsuba was the first in league history to draft a goalie in the entry draft (also first to draft two goalies). This same day was the 1st annual Sandwich Draft which saw defenceman Alex Petrovic of the Florida Panthers join the Stammer Time organization. It was clear that Matsuba liked his home grown talent – selecting two Edmonton Oil Kings and an Edmontonian, Alex Petrovic.
