October Rankings

Power Rankings

1. Optimus Reim

OR continues to defy the skeptics and silence the critics. On the back of Mark Giordano’s incredible start to the season, OR’s “historically awful” offence is plugging along in the upper half of the league. Additionally the motley crew of tandems, backups, and colanders behind ace Tuukka Rask have managed to keep the ship afloat on the back end. OR’s hold on the top spot is a tenuous one, they are behind MM in both record against the league and rotisserie stats. OR is first in these power rankings mostly due to a decisive victory over MM in week 4. OR should enjoy their time a top the award winning power rankings… while it lasts.

2. Mr. Momentum

MM’s championship defence has had a solid if unspectacular start to the season. While some past stalwarts such as Wheeler and Duchene have had sluggish starts to the year, new blood Tarasenko and Hornquist have helped to keep MM’s offence at the top of the heap. As usual the goalie situation is less then ideal however MM showed last year that offence wins championships.

3. Girouxsome Twosome

With only one matchup loss, to league leading OR, Girouxsome Twosome’s lightning rebuild is going smoothly to start the season. Despite their success and above .500 pace, GT brass has to be concerned with their putrid goalie stats. They currently stand last or second last in all goaltending categories. Getting rid of Andrew Raycroft impersonator Steve Mason was a good start, however there is still much to improve.

4. Chance of Fleury’s

PERFECT WEEK!! The years of desolation and despair for COF faithful may finally over. COF’s stats are middling in both offence and goaltending categories however middling is a pretty solid improvement over the norm. With 3 first rounders in the stacked 2015 entry draft, COF also has the flexibility to add an impact player to help with the playoff push if need be.

5. Getting Iggy With It

This team continues to be a mystery wrapped in an enigma. They seemingly compete for The Hoover and the Naveed at random. Unfortunately for the Hoover Bowl finalists, this year seems like the latter. On the plus side GIWI’s goaltending numbers are league leading. Their offence is also leading the league… in being awful. Perhaps a move is in the works to rectify the imbalance.

6. Stammer Time

ST picked a rough time to have a rough year. With no first round pick in this years draft ST doesn’t really have the option to rebuild. It’s tough to pinpoint the issues with this team. They are among the leaders in goals and shots but have very poor assist and ppp number. Their goalies are stellar in GAA and SO but poor in Wins and SV%. Whatever the solution is ST better figure it out before they’re in too deep a hole to climb out.
