Brotherly love came together Friday when Donesh and Naveed ironed out a deal that involved swapping a pair of Bolts for two Islanders. Mr. Mo-Mentum traded Teddy Purcell, rookie Cory Conacher and a 2013 4th round pick in exchange for Matt Moulson, Michael Grabner and a 2013 6th round pick.
Purcell and Conacher are 4th and 5th in scoring for the Lightning with 15 and 13 points respectively, while Moulson (17) and Grabner (8) are 2nd and 5th for the Islanders respectively. While point production and powerplay time are comparatively even, the pair from Long Island heavily out-shoot Purcell/Conacher 89 to 57 through 14 games.
On paper this is an evenly match deal, but its a classic gut feeling deal, where only time will determine who came out on top. Moulson has remained healthy with a steady point increase since 2009-10 and a similar trend is in the making for Purcell.
